Affiliated Sporting Grants
The Vikings Group has developed the reputation as the 'Home of Amateur Sport in the Tuggeranong Valley' with a total of 53 affiliated sporting and social clubs, representing 39 different sports and activities. Support (both financial and in-kind) provided by the licensed club to these affiliated sporting and social clubs is vital in maintaining accessibility to all.
A shining example of this support is The Vikings Group Affiliate Club Grants Scheme.
At the April Sports Council meeting, representatives from 40 of our affiliated sporting clubs were provided with confirmation of their 2008 Grants that they will receive through the Affiliate Club Grants Scheme. These funds are provided to our affiliated clubs to use on their administration and development costs. By providing these grants it will allow our affiliated clubs to reduce the direct financial cost that is incurred by their participants therefore making Sport more accessible to local athletes.
