Employer of the Year

The Vikings Group has once again been named Employer of the Year at the recent ACT Training Excellence Awards. Since 1979, the Vikings Group has grown from a single, one room club, to operating fi ve licensed clubs throughout Canberra. Boasting over 60,000 members and affi liations with 52 sporting clubs, the Vikings Group is a major employer in ACT's Tuggeranong Valley with staff in excess of 300. We believe that the quality of our staff is a pivotal reason for the success of our clubs and that is why we invest so much in training. The club is committed to the community in many ways, having donated over $2 million to community and charity organisations in the past year. This commitment to the community is refl ected in our approach to training and development. "It is critical in the current climate, that the Vikings Group remains focused on the future", Anthony Hill, Human Resource Manager said. "The training program in place at Vikings has been evolving over the past five years, with each year providing new and exciting initiatives to improve the functionality and enjoyment of the program."
